COUNSELING SERVICES
School counseling is a vital part of the educational experience that supports students in three key areas:
Academic Development
Social and Emotional Growth
Career Awareness
As a school counselor, my role is to help all students succeed by providing a safe, supportive environment and teaching important life skills. I work with students through individual sessions, small groups, and classroom lessons to help them navigate challenges, build healthy relationships, and grow into confident learners.
Counseling Services Offered
Individual Counseling:
I meet one-on-one with students to provide short-term, goal-focused support. Topics vary but commonly include:
Friendship issues
Managing emotions
Family changes
Self-confidence
Problem-solving
Note: School counseling is meant to be short-term. If your child would benefit more from long-term or more intensive support, I can help connect you with outside resources.
Small Group Counseling:
Small groups bring together students who share similar needs or experiences. These groups are a great way for students to:
Practice social skills
Learn to manage big emotions
Develop self-regulation strategies
Build confidence in a safe and supportive setting
Groups typically meet once a week for 4–6 weeks.
Classroom Lessons:
I visit classrooms weekly to teach a variety of skills such as career exploration, digital saftey and social-emotional learning (SEL) lessons.
To keep you informed and involved, I will be sending home Unit Sheets for each classroom unit. These give you an overview of what your child has been learning and offer ways you can reinforce the skills at home.
