Hi! My name is Heather Stenslien and this is my 22nd year of teaching. 20 of those years have been in the De Soto School District. Working at Prairie View Elementary is incredible because of the students, staff, and families that are here. It is the perfect example of "a small school with a big heart". I received my degree in education from Viterbo University with my minor in early childhood. I have wanted to be a teacher since I was in first grade and I am blessed to have the opportunity to fulfill my childhood dream.

I live in De Soto with my husband, Steve, our daughter, Mckinley, and our son, Jaxson. In my spare time, I enjoy watching my kids play sports, baking, and spending time with my family.

I LOVE First Grade! My biggest reward is seeing my students grow and develop throughout the school year, especially with their reading skills. My goal for my students is to make learning fun and interactive. My goal for families is to build connections between home and school.
