I am excited to be starting my 9th year as the elementary art teacher in the De Soto School district!
I graduated with a B.S. in Art from Viterbo University and received my teacher training from St. Mary's University. I have had various careers in art and bring this real-world experience to the classroom. I have been the manager of an art gallery, a graphic designer at an advertising agency, an art director at a publishing company and owned a graphic design business. In 2008, I started teaching art at St. Charles Elementary School in Genoa. In 2016, I began teaching art at Stoddard Elementary and Prairie View Elementary . I was honored to be named a WKBT Top Notch Teacher in December of 2022!
I have three children. Lane was the co-valedictorian of DHS class of 2018 and graduated from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa in 2021. She is currently attending medical school at St. Georges in Grenada. Vin was the salutatorian of DHS class of 2020 and Junior at Luther College. Silas is in 12th grade at DHS.
I enjoy spending time with my family and dogs, hiking, kayaking, ice skating, reading and traveling. Colorado is one of my favorite places to visit. I also love cross country, baseball and track.
I am excited to be the assistant coach for Cross Country this year!
