Scholarships

De Soto Scholarship Packet

These are scholarships made available for the De Soto Area School District’s Scholarship Committee to award funds as they determine. This pool of scholarships is open only to De Soto High School students. Preparing this scholarship packet has the added benefit of collecting the materials (e.g. resume, letter(s) of recommendation, personal statement, etc.) you will likely need for other local and state/national applications outside these scholarship funds.

Local Scholarships

These are scholarships that the guidance office has been made aware of by the local group(s) offering them. They are awarded based on the discretion of the group(s) offering the scholarship. Regional restrictions and other eligibility considerations apply. The group(s) offering these scholarships are part of the De Soto community, Vernon/Crawford/La Crosse County, or Driftless Area.

State/National Scholarships

These scholarships are opportunities that the guidance office has been contacted directly to share with students here. Please keep in mind that the broader the eligibility requirements are geographically, the more competition for the scholarships there will be. This is not to say don’t apply. This means take extra care with your application materials - have someone proofread your statements/essays, get letters of recommendation specifically for these scholarships that reflect what the organization is looking for in a candidate, and take extra care in following the directions in the applications.

Remember to apply every year for your specific campus' scholarships once you've chosen a college
