🎃 Good behavior deserves a little pumpkin fun! Some of our students were rewarded with pumpkins for showing positive behavior and making great choices. We love celebrating our students and the little things they do each day to make our schools a great place to be!

Elementary Students of the Month!

Congrats to our kiddos on reaching 500 shout-outs! As a reward, students got to enjoy a little BINGO at lunch! 🏴‍☠️ Way to go, Pirates—keep up the great work!

Homecoming week

If you are at the Vernon County Fair, check out our booth in the Education building. The kids in grades K-5 worked so hard to each create their portion. Kindergarteners made sunflowers, 1st graders made themselves farmers, 2nd graders made cows, 3rd graders did the farm stand, 4th graders made the giant cow, carrots and merits. 5th graders worked collaboratively to create their portion background farm scene.

The kids enjoyed a new breakfast item this morning banana split parfaits!

3rd graders had a great start to Fruit of the Week by learning all about one of the most popular summer fruits—watermelon. The goal of Fruit of the Week is to help students learn more about fruits they already enjoy, while discovering new fruits they may not have tried before. Here are a few of students favorite watermelon discoveries: “Watermelons can be grown in squares!” “There are lots of different colors of watermelon!” “Watermelon gives you some of the vitamins that help protect you from sunburn!” “Watermelons weren’t always seedless!” The learning didn’t stop there! Students learned that people eat watermelon rind stir-fry and that watermelon seeds can be roasted and eaten. Everyone had the opportunity to try roasted watermelon seeds. While the seeds didn’t beat the fruit itself, five students became roasted watermelon seed fans! The best part was sharing an orange watermelon together.

What a great first day! Here are a few snapshots from across our buildings. A big thank you to everyone who stopped by Tuesday with Tim to meet our new superintendent, Mr. Fergot! He had a great morning visiting with families, welcoming students, and getting plenty of knucks 👊 from our Pirates along the way!
