Welcome to fifth grade! My name is Marlee Smith, and I am so excited to be your fifth-grade teacher at Stoddard! This is my second year teaching in the De Soto School District. Last year, I taught second grade at Prairie View Elementary. 

I graduated from UW-La Crosse in 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in K–9 education. I grew up in Taylor, WI, with my mom, dad, and two older sisters. I now live in La Crosse with my husband, Kaleb, and our three English Golden Retrievers. I enjoy staying active by walking our dogs and working out. I also love reading, binge-watching TV shows, spending time with my family, and camping!  

Fifth grade is an exciting year filled with learning, growth, and new adventures! Students will strengthen their reading and writing skills, explore fractions, decimals, and algebra in math, and learn about Earth and living systems in science. In social studies, we will explore the history of our nation and how our government was created.

I am looking forward to a fun and successful year together. It’s going to be a fantastic fifth-grade year!
