Welcome to First Grade! My name is Kiley Peterson and this will be my second year here at Stoddard Elementary and overall fourth year teaching. Prior to Stoddard, I had two years of teaching experience in kindergarten. I received my bachelors degree in elementary education from Viterbo University and I will be attending University of Wisconsin- La Crosse this coming fall to earn my masters degree in reading. Ever since I was young, I always knew that I wanted to be a teacher to help students learn and grow as individuals.
I grew up and I am from the La Crosse area. I love being outdoors, especially going on walks and runs. I have also always enjoyed doing art and love to paint. Lastly, I am a huge baseball fan. Go Brewers!
I love teaching first grade as it is such a year of tremendous growth in all areas, especially reading! I have always had a passion for teaching reading and seeing each child grow individually throughout the year, and seeing when it “clicks” for them. I enjoy getting to know all of my students and building those connections with them, as well as their families. So, I look forward to working with you as well as your child!
If you ever have any questions or concerns, please always feel free to contact me! I am looking forward to a great year here in First Grade!
