Thank you to Mrs. Betsy & Mrs. Erica for the delicious food for Stoddard Elementary Families and Friends.

Each week, we're featuring a staff member to help you get to know the amazing people who make De Soto High School such a special place. This week is Kiley Peterson, first grade teacher at Stoddard.
🏴☠️This is Kiley's second year in the De Soto Area School District and overall fourth year of teaching. She has two years of prior teaching experience in kindergarten.
🏴☠️She is from and grew up in the Holmen area. She attended Viterbo University where she earned her bachelor's degree in elementary education with a minor in early childhood education. This year, she decided to go back to school at UWL to pursue her graduate degree in reading with a reading specialist licence. She has LOVED teaching first grade and a big part of that is the reading aspect. First grade is such a year of tremendous growth, and she loves watching how each student progresses throughout the school year. She is excited for the opportunity to learn more about reading in her graduate program and apply that knowledge in her classroom.
🏴☠️She has one younger brother who attends Winona State University and also plays on the baseball team. Her family also has one dog, named Cooper. As a family they enjoy watching baseball and going to games. Go Brewers! They also enjoy being outdoors and overall spending time together as a family.
🏴☠️One fun fact about her is that she has been to one other country, Canada. Her family has gone on fishing trips there.
🏴☠️When asked what excites her most about De Soto, Kiley says I have enjoyed my time so far here in De Soto! It is hard to believe this is my second year already. I have appreciated how positive, supportive and close knit the schools and community are. I also love how small and rural our school district is. I feel I am able to better connect with co-workers, families, and of course my students. I look forward to my future here in De Soto. Go Pirates!
