On April 30, De Soto hosted the middle Visual Arts Festival as part of the Mississippi Valley Gifted and Talented Network. Our guest speaker was M‘Lou Wilkie, a wonderful stained glass artist. 10 school districts and 65 people attended. Students displayed their art as well as participating in three art-making stations. Projects included making faux stained glass from transparencies, fabric tucking using the principles of stained glass and heat sculpting translucent flowers.
