Community event to raise funds for school food service program!

Each week, we're featuring a staff member to help you get to know the amazing people who make De Soto school district such a special place.
This week is Jennifer Jaekel, our Special Education Teacher at Stoddard Elementary.
🏴☠️ This will be Jennifer's 14th year teaching, first year in special education, she previously taught 3rd grade.
🏴☠️ She grew up in La Crosse and moved to Stoddard after college.
🏴☠️Jennifer lives in Stoddard with her husband, 2 children and their labrador retrievers. Their son is in fourth grade at Stoddard Elementary and daughter is in 7th grade at De Soto Middle School. They have a yellow lab named Scout and a black lab named Phoenix.
🏴☠️She and her family enjoy spending as much time as they can on the river every summer. She enjoys traveling to new places. This past summer they visited Glacier National Park in Montana.
🏴☠️ A fun fact about her is that her dog Scout and her went through special training to get therapy dog and handler certification. During the time that they were fully certified they were able to visit nursing homes and schools together.
🏴☠️When asked what excites her most about De Soto Jennifer says, "I love teaching in De Soto because I love the small community and watching the students I teach grow up to be great people and citizens. I also am proud to work with amazing teachers who truly want the best for the students they teach."
