Each week, we're featuring a staff member to help you get to know the amazing people who make De Soto school district such a special place.
This week, Tamera Zink, 4K Para at Stoddard
🏴☠️ She has been here in the district for 13 years.
🏴☠️ She is originally from Viroqua, WI.
🏴☠️ She lives in Stoddard with her husband, Josh, who graduated from De Soto. They have three children: Anastasia, a 2024 De Soto graduate who will be graduating in April with her OTA degree from Western; Lillian, a 2025 De Soto graduate who is completing her first year in the Vet Tech program; and Oscar, who is currently a junior at De Soto. They have two dogs who keep us busy and add a lot of excitement to their home.
🏴☠️ Her hobbies include watching her son play sports, reading, gardening, line dancing, traveling, and taking pictures. Most of all, she enjoys spending time with her family. She also serve as Secretary of the Booster Club and Concessions Coordinator.
🏴☠️ A fun fact about Tamera, as a baby, She was held by President Carter, and a photo of the moment was featured in newspapers across the country.
🏴☠️When asked what excites her most about De Soto Tamera says, " What excites me most about being at De Soto is the small-school environment, which allows for strong relationships with students, staff, and families. The staff are some of the best around, and I truly enjoy working with such a supportive team. ”

This week, Sarah Bay, Second Grade Teacher at Stoddard
🏴☠️ She has been teaching here since 2018.
🏴☠️ She is originally from Brodhead, WI, a small town south of Madison. I went to school at UWL and stayed in the area.
🏴☠️ She lives in Onalaska with her husband, two daughters (3 and 1), and dog named Griffey.
🏴☠️ She loves reading and spending time with her immediate and extended family.
🏴☠️ A fun fact about Sarah, her aunt opened a school in Spain and teaches English to students (and adults) of all ages. She spent part of a summer there working at her school.
🏴☠️When asked what excites her most about De Soto Sarah says, " I appreciate the small community and how you are able to build relationships with students and continue to see them grow each year. I am grateful for close relationships with staff and community members!”

The leadership team at prairie view did a canned food drive and collected 297 items in total! They were proud to help the community out and continue to work on their leadership skills.
