This week, Arthur Mendoza, 6th - 12th grade Spanish Teacher.
🏴☠️ Arthur has been teaching here since 2021.
🏴☠️ He grew up in Lima, Peru.
🏴☠️ His wife is from Viroqua, but they met in Peru in 2006. They lived in Lima until they moved to Wisconsin in 2021. They have two children that attend Prairie View.
🏴☠️He enjoys listening to music and playing electric guitar.
🏴☠️A fun fact about Arthur, at first, several students, and even one of the bus drivers, thought he was an exchange student.
🏴☠️When asked what excites him most about De Soto Arthur says, "What I like most is that the school is not in a big city. I also enjoy being able to teach both middle and high school, since it gives me the opportunity to teach students for several years, some of them even from 6th grade until they graduate, and to see their growth and progress throughout that entire time."

Our district is proud to celebrate National School Breakfast Week 2026, happening March 2–6! This annual event, led by the School Nutrition Association, highlights the importance of a healthy breakfast in fueling student success.
A nutritious breakfast helps students stay focused, energized, and ready to learn. We’re grateful to our amazing nutrition services team who work hard every day to provide delicious, balanced meals to our students.
Join us this week in celebrating the power of breakfast! Encourage your student to start their day with a healthy meal at school. 🏫✨

🏴☠️A fun fact about Hillary, her grandpa was one of De Soto's first Ag teachers, teaching here in the late 1950s and early 1960s.
🏴☠️When asked what excites her most about De Soto Hillary says, "What drew me to De Soto 9 years ago was a district and community that truly supported their ag program, and that hasn't changed. I love being able to get kids out in the community for real-world experiences and being in a district that supports those experiences."
