De Soto Area School District
Home of the Pirates!
Today, our De Soto Pirates compete at the WIAA State Track & Field Championships!
WXOW highlighted our program's incredible journey and how our team continues to succeed despite not having home track facilities—a true testament to the commitment of our student-athletes and coaches. We would also like to congratulate Coach Mooney on being named the Ridge & Valley Conference Track & Field Coach of the Year! This honor reflects passion he brings to our program each day.
Head to La Crosse today, to cheer on our Pirates and show your support for this group of student-athletes. We are proud of all they have accomplished and can't wait to see them represent De Soto at State.
Good luck, Pirates! 🏴☠️

Our 5th grade students at Prairie View recently had the opportunity to visit with former PV/De Soto alumnus Jordan Fremstad, who is now a reporter for KCTV in Kansas City!
We are incredibly grateful to Jordan for taking the time to give back to our school and community. It’s always inspiring to see our alumni share their experiences and encourage the next generation of Pirates.
Thank you, Jordan, for reminding our students that great things can happen when you work hard and pursue your goals!
Reminder to pay your negative lunch accounts.

Students in Ms. Bark's Family Living class recently wrapped up their "Practical Sewing" unit. They started with hand sewing and basic mending and repair skills before moving into machine sewing. The unit concluded with students constructing their own pajama pants from start to finish, complete with Milwaukee Brewers flannel!
Throughout the project, students practiced practical skills including measuring, pattern layout, seam construction, hemming, and of course, how to use a seam ripper.
Did you know? De Soto HS annually alternates between two Family & Consumer Science classes - Family Living and Child Development- as part of expanding CTE course offerings.
